I designed and programmed a version of Asteroids that takes the gameplay of the 1970s classic, but sets it in a competitive multiplayer game. Up to four players compete in a variation of King of the Hill mode in which they're required to defend and remain in a always fleeing objective point. In order to win, the player must remain in the objective until they fill their progress meter to the very end. The players will compete in a procedurally generated asteroid belt that changes the layout of the map before every match. Traversable paths, and hazards, are dynamically added into the massive environment and contribute to the game's explorational elements, as well as making the overall experience more dynamic because matches never playout the same.
